Shut Down Impacts Are Real – Resources for Montgomery County Families
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The ongoing government shutdown is creating real uncertainty for families across Montgomery County. While Congress remains gridlocked, the administration has chosen to prioritize other spending, including a $20 billion bailout for Argentina, instead of working on a bipartisan solution to keep the government open and protect affordable healthcare.
At its core, this fight is about the future of health coverage for millions of Americans. If key subsidies under the Affordable Care Act expire, premiums will rise dramatically, and working families will bear the burden.
If you're a federal employee impacted by the shutdown, here are key resources available to Maryland residents during this challenging time:
● Housing, Utilities, and Consumer Protections
● Crisis Intervention, Health, and Insurance
To support Maryland workers and businesses affected by federal budget cuts, explore Mobilize Montgomery, a partnership between County Government and local organizations.
We need leadership that focused on solutions, not political stunts. I’m committed to fighting for the resources Marylanders need and making sure working families aren’t left behind.
On October 30, I’ll be joined by doctors across Montgomery County for a fundraising event to support this campaign and ensure we have strong voices in Annapolis who will fight for affordable healthcare and real investment in our communities. I hope you’ll join us or contribute whatever you can to help us build momentum.
With heart and purpose,
Tazeen Ahmad
