The Truth Matters!
Dear Friends,
Regardless of how you feel about an issue, staying informed and understanding the alternatives is imperative. Having robust media sources enables us to do just that. Without independent media, our democracy grow increasingly fragile. With a president who routinely fabricates information and distorts reality, and a national media landscape flooded with misinformation, it’s more critical than ever to support honest, local reporting that prioritizes facts.
Local journalism is vital to a healthy democracy. Without it, there is at best a lack of information, but at worst, misinformation fills the void. In Maryland we’re fortunate to have many publications that are doing just that - digging into the issues that affect our communities, and helping residents stay informed with context, clarity, and integrity.
Some of local media that bring thoughtful, community-focused reporting to our district include:
- The Baltimore Banner – Montgomery County
- Maryland Matters
- Bethesda Magazine | Bethesda Today
- Montgomery Community Media
- Maryland Daily Record
- I Hate Politics (Podcast)
- Montgomery Perspective
These publications are nonprofit, nonpartisan, and don’t require a paywall. I encourage you to subscribe, share, and support them in any way you can.
Maryland must be a place where facts matter, the public is informed, and good journalism is recognized as a public good. As delegate, I will support legislative and regulatory policies that promote transparency, civic engagement and the free flow of information.
As always, I want to hear from you. What stories aren’t being told? What issues do you wish received more attention in the press? You can reach me at tazeen@tazeenformaryland.com.
Join my campaign. Whether you can volunteer or contribute, your support helps us build a movement grounded in facts, transparency, and service.
With heart and purpose,
Tazeen Ahmad
